This tab includes a short history ("History" dropdown) of music performance rights and the principle participants in negotiating licenses on behalf of radio and television stations.  These participants include ASCAP, BMI and SESAC on behalf of the composers and the Television Music License Committee on behalf of local television stations.

required to actually use the music.

Direct/Source Licensing provides a basic outline of contract language necessary to
establish the right to broadcast or transmit music as part of the programming
broadcast or transmitted by a local television station.
